We’ve made a blend with two exceptional decafs—a smallholder sugarcane process Colombia and a Swiss water process Guatemala microlot from a trio of top producers. With classic flavors of dutch cocoa, caramel apple, and sweet cherries you’ll’ easily forget you’re drinking decaf!

There are many roasters out there, but few with our long track record of uncompromising point of view. We make our mark with ever-evolving blends and select single-origin releases featuring the best available green coffees, meticulously roasted. We cut no corners. We can try and tell you why it’s so good, but we’d much rather show you.

It depends on the cup. In our home brewing methods we’re typically using about 15g of beans for each 8oz cup of coffee — so a 250g bag of Yes Plz yields roughly sixteen mugs while a 340g bag yields about 23. We love sharing brew tips, so hit us up anytime to talk about the brew methods you’re exploring.

We’re certification agnostic — though many of the coffees we bring in do have organic, Fair Trade, or other certifications, we aren’t participants in any of the licensing agreements to display those marks. We buy our green coffees from smaller importers and exporters who emphasize transparency and long term relationships with growers and mills. There is a small (but growing), increasingly strong and competitive high-end green coffee market that’s emerged in recent years that offers much higher premiums to growers than the old fair trade minimums. Certifications have been good (in some, not all countries) at establishing a floor for sustainable practices and prices, but they’ve been surpassed by the better communication systems, technical agronomy, supply chain transparency and increased producer equity that’s developed within the newer specialty coffee movement. None of which is to say that the “third wave” quality coffee movement has solved all the hard problems of sustainability, but we’re proud to work with the farms, mills, and green buyers we do business with and think they represent a strong slice of the current vanguard when it comes to best practices.

Always delicious. The lightness or darkness of a roast is just one of many factors that affect your coffee and we encourage folks to explore broadly before deciding to embrace only one style. We’re lighter than some, darker than others; the “lighter side of medium” sounds about right, but everyone is grading on different curves.

Decaffeinated coffee can indeed be organic, but it is important to emphasize that the organic certification is obtained before the coffee beans undergo the decaffeination process. To be considered organic, coffee must be grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides. Therefore, by the time the coffee reaches the decaffeination plant, it has already passed the rigorous requirements of organic coffee certifications. This ensures that the beans used for decaffeination have been cultivated in accordance with organic farming practices. It is worth noting that the decaffeination processes, such as the water process, does not alter the organic status of the coffee. Thus, decaf coffee can maintain its organic certification as long as it meets the necessary criteria before undergoing the decaffeination process.
